Salem Area Women's Club, Arts & Culture chair, Sarah Friend, describes the annual photo contest. It is a 3 step contest; your own area, State level and National level. For the State of NH, Salem took two 1st place awards, three 2nd place and one 3rd place. These will go on to compete at the National level. Go ladies! We also got a quick update from the Education/Libraries chair, Darlene Daniele. She described the Meet the Author series which combines local children authors with groups of kids in the community. The most recent reading was at the Salem Boys & Girls Club where 31 children enjoyed Jeff Zygmont's book, Gina Loses a Ski. So timely in such a snowy season
